What I do with the details you send me. Short version: I use them to build your site and talk to you, and nothing else.
Who I am
R Websites is run by JP Ralph, a sole trader. I am the person responsible for your details. You can reach me at [email protected].
What I collect
If you use the form: your business name, website address and email, plus any logo, photos or notes you choose to add. If you write to me, I keep your email and my replies. If you become a customer, I also keep records of the work and the payment.
Why I use it
To build your free preview, email you the link, make the changes you ask for and, if you go ahead, put the site live and invoice you. That is the only use. The law lets me do this because you asked me to, and because I have a legitimate interest in running my business.
If I emailed you first
I sometimes email businesses whose website I think I could improve. I find them from public sources, such as Companies House and online business listings, and I take a business email address such as info@ from the business's own website. Every email says who I am and has a way to opt out. If you opt out, I add your address to a list so I never email you again. Reply to any email, or write to [email protected], and I will stop straight away and delete anything else I hold about you.
Who else sees it
I do not sell or share your details for marketing. I use a small number of services to run the business: Cloudflare hosts this site, counts visits to it and checks the form for spam, Supabase stores what you send through the form, and Gmail handles my email. They process your details for me and only for that. Some of them are based outside the UK. Where that happens, they must protect your details to a standard the law accepts.
How long I keep it
If you ask for a preview and do not go ahead, I delete your files and details within 30 days of our last message. If you become a customer, I keep invoices and payment records for six years, because tax law requires it. Addresses on my do not email list are kept for as long as is needed to honour your opt out.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of your details, ask me to correct or delete them, or ask me to stop using them. Email [email protected] and I will reply within a month. If you are not happy with how I have handled things, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies and shows no advertising. I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits to the pages. It works without cookies and does not follow you around the web or build a profile of you.
